From Parents

" . . . I am a parent of an Avon Intermediate School 5th grade girl. I recently attended the parent information presentation. . . I want to say thank you for the very informative presentation and that I walked away with a better understanding of how to talk with my daughter and what to say. My daughter and I have always been able to talk and I consider us a close family, but I have often thought to myself, 'How am I supposed to phrase this information.' With the information on paper and the information that you gave me, I am much more comfortable with my situation. My daughter will be seeing the presentation today, and I am confident that she will be given the correct information. . . Thank you again, and keep up the good work!" - - - CW, 5th grade parent

". . . My daughter is in 4th grade. On November 20th, a personal health and body changes presentation was given to the children. I would like you to know that in my opinion who ever organized and presented the information did a very good job. I know there are varying opinions among adults of how a school should involve itself with these subjects. It was done in a manner that did not make the children feel embarrassed, and my daughter could verbalize a basic understanding. It segued into a very nice discussion between us where I could take the foundation the school presented and supplement with information I felt she was ready for. . .please pass my feedback on to those who were involved in the organization and presentation of the program." - - - BM, 4th grade parent

From School Personnel

“. . . We have enjoyed a partnership with Social Health Association that has lasted more than 35 years. . .Social Health's presentations provide our students with the information they should have about puberty and the reproductive system that is age appropriate.  Warren [Township] looks forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with this fine organization.” - - - Dr. Michael Wallpe, Associate Superintendent for School Improvement, MSD of Warren Township

" I have seen many programs of this nature in different schools. It is very sensitive material and tough to teach to kids of this age. [Your teacher] is as good as I’ve seen in terms of both generating information and dealing with young people. She is a very talented teacher and it is impressive how she holds her audience’s attention! Social Health Association is very lucky to have such a representative." Teacher, Paul Hadley Middle School
