Social Health Association (SHA) prides itself in the competency and talents of its professionally prepared educators. Each educator has many years of teaching experience, and participates in regularly presented professional development programs. In addition to their educational credentials, all SHA classroom teachers are certified in HIV/AIDS Education by the American Red Cross; are certified instructors of I-SAFE (internet safety) curricula; and have completed cultural competency training through the Indiana State Department of Health.
Michael Howe, MS, Executive Director (mhowe@socialhealth.org)
Michael began his career at Social Health Association in January, 2007. Prior to coming to Social Health, Michael was Vice President of Neighborhood Services and AmeriCorps Program Director at a local not-for-profit community center. Michael has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Indianapolis and a certificate in Non Profit leadership from Ivy Tech Community College. He has also earned a Master of Science degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. Michael was named the 2009 Distinguished Young Alumni from the University of Indianapolis.
Angela Bridge, CHES, Education Manager (abridge@socialhealth.org)
Angela began her Social Health Association career as a staff member in 2011, however, she has been involved with the agency since 1998 through Board membership and volunteerism. She has been a our Parent Educator for the last 3 years, providing more then 100 parent education programs a year. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Ball State University in Health Science and is a Certified Community Health Education Specialist. Mrs. Bridge acts as the liaison between schools and Social Health. She is responsible for helping schools determine the programs that fit their needs, for developing the teaching schedules for all schools, and oversight of all educational finctions of the agency..
Billy White, Jr., Business Manager (bwhite@socialhealth.org)
Billy's involvement with Social Health Association began in 2003 as a member of the Board of Directors, subsequently completing two full terms as a board member and serving as Board Secretary in 2009. In June 2010, Billy joined the staff in the role of Business Manager, responsible for accounting, administrative, human resources, and office operations. Prior to Social Health Association, Billy was Eastern United States Regional Manager for ActionLink, a national retail services consulting firm, and has worked as a volunteer and consultant for other community agencies.
Our Educators:
Doreen Fatula
Doreen has been part of the SHA staff since 1996. She received her BS degree in Health Education from Indiana University in Bloomington and is certified to teach in grades K-12.
Susan Hebert
Susan has both BS and MS degrees in Education from Indiana University. She has been a part of the SHA educational staff since 1998. Mrs. Hebert worked with the PTO in Washington Township for a number of years in leadership positions.
Kristi Kimberlin
Kristi earned a BA in Elem Ed, MS in Social Work, holds an Indiana Teaching License and is a Gottman Educator. Kristi has taught in Wayne Township and was the school councilor as well as teacher of French and Mandarin for the International School.
Debbie Quevedo
Debbie joined the SHA staff in 2011. She earned BA in French, BS in Environmental Science, MA in International Teaching. Debbie is fully bilingual in spanish/english. She taught for more than 25 years at the Colegio Internacional Montessori school in Guatemala.
Stan Scarlett
Stan joined the SHA staff in 2005. He holds an Indiana Teaching License and taught for more than 30 years in the Shelbyville School system. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Indiana, and his graduate degree at IUPUI.
Sharon Toepp
Sharon joined the SHA team in 2008. She most recently taught for St. Monica Catholic School in various roles including teaching 6th grade health classes, P.E. for kindergarten and 1st graders, and teacher assistant for the kindergarten. Sharon has also been a girl's volleyball coach. Sharon holds an BS in Secondary Physical Education/Health from Ball State University.
Cornelius White
Cornelius teaches Life Skills/Bully Prevention classes in our after school and summer day camp outreach program. He has a degree from Knoxville College. He is a full-time substitute teacher in IPS. He has taught for Social Health Association since 2002.
