Our Vision
Since 1943, Social Health Association has been a member of the United Way family of agencies and has educated hundreds of thousands of students, parents and educational professionals with instruction that has assisted them to make wise choices about their health. This has been done through curricula that focuses on human growth and development; disease prevention; and life-skills such as bullying prevention and personal safety. The following vision is an extension of the past successes of the Association, and flows from its contemporary mission:
Within the Central Indiana community, Social Health Association will be known as - - -
- The school health education program best prepared to empower students in their quest to make wise and responsible decisions about their health including their resolve to choose abstinence as the first and healthiest option;
The school health education program best able to support youth in acquiring skills to reduce their health risk behaviors thus enabling them to stay in school, excel in their studies, and be ready to become productive members of society;
The school health education program trusted by parents who want to feel supported in their roles as educators of their children in matters regarding sexuality;
The school health education program of choice for school administrators who wish to have their students receive age-appropriate, medicaly accurate, and effective instruction on health topics taught by trained and experienced educators.
